Privacy Policy
Effective date: [Month Day, Year] · Last updated: [Month Day, Year]
The short version
- We collect only what we need: your details when you contact us and, for apps built on InQ, the minimum needed to run a queue and send a “your turn” alert.
- End users join anonymously by default. Their information stays on their own phone unless they choose to share it.
- We don't collect end users' names or payment information through the InQ service.
- We don't sell personal information, and we don't use it for advertising.
- End-user queue data is kept only for the active queue session, then deleted or anonymized, unless our business customer sets a different retention period.
1. Who we are
InQ is a software module, SDK and API that gives businesses QR-code check-in, queue management and real-time notification features they can build into their own apps. InQ is operated by Software Solutions HSI (“InQ,” “we,” “us” or “our”), [street address, city, state, ZIP].
2. Who this policy covers
This policy explains how we handle personal information about:
- Website visitors: people who visit n-queue.com or contact us through it.
- Partners: the businesses that license InQ and build it into their apps, and the people who work for them.
- End users: the people who join a queue or check in through a Partner's app that uses InQ.
Our Partners run their own apps and have their own privacy policies. We aren't responsible for how a Partner collects or uses information outside of the InQ service. Use of the service by Partners is also governed by our Terms of Service.
3. Information we collect
Information you give us on our website
When you request a demo, contact us or submit a support request, we collect what you enter in the form. That may include:
- Your name and email address
- Your company name and website
- Your phone number
- The type of business you represent
- The content of your message or support request
Information collected automatically on our website
Like most websites, our site and the services that host and deliver it automatically record basic technical information when you visit. That includes your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, the site that referred you, and the date and time of your visit. See Cookies below.
Partner account information
When a business becomes a Partner, we collect the business contact and account details needed to provide the service, such as account holders' names, work email addresses, login credentials, and billing and contract information.
End-user information processed through the service
End users join a queue anonymously by default. Their personal information stays on their own phone, and “your turn” alerts are delivered to the device that checked in. To run the queue, the InQ service processes only:
- A unique identifier and an encrypted QR code generated for that end user
- Queue status and check-in timestamps
Only if the end user chooses to share it, the service may also process contact information such as a name, phone number or email address. That information is used solely for the purpose the user shared it for, such as receiving a text or email notification.
The service does not collect payment information, and it does not collect any other personal details beyond what is strictly necessary to run the queue.
4. How we use information
| Information | What we use it for |
|---|---|
| Website form submissions | To reply to your request, schedule demos, provide support, and send information you asked for about InQ. |
| Website technical data | To operate, secure and improve the website, prevent spam and abuse, and understand how the site is used. |
| Partner account information | To provide and bill for the service, manage accounts, send service and security notices, and provide support. |
| End-user queue data | Only to generate check-in codes, manage the queue, deliver the Partner's notifications and confirm check-ins, on the Partner's behalf. |
We may also use information to comply with the law, enforce our agreements, and protect the rights, safety and security of our users, Partners and the public.
5. What we don't do
- We don't sell personal information.
- We don't share personal information for cross-context behavioral (targeted) advertising.
- We don't use end-user data for our own marketing, and we never contact our Partners' customers.
- We don't include ad networks or data brokers anywhere in the InQ service.
6. How we share information
We share personal information only in these situations:
- Service providers. We use trusted companies to help run our website and service, such as website hosting, content delivery and security, form handling, and SMS and email delivery. They may use the information only to provide services to us. [Optional: list key providers, e.g. hosting provider, Cloudflare, SMS provider, email provider.]
- With Partners. Queue status and check-in events are made available to the Partner whose app the end user is using.
- Legal reasons. If required by law, subpoena or other legal process, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect rights, property or safety.
- Business transfers. If we're involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
- With your permission. In any other case where you've asked us to or agreed to it.
7. End users of Partner apps
When we process end-user information through the InQ service, we do so on behalf of, and under the instructions of, the Partner that operates the app. In privacy-law terms, the Partner generally decides how the data is used, and InQ acts as its service provider (or “processor”).
If you're an end user and want to access or delete your information, or have questions about how an app uses it, please contact the business whose app you used. If you contact us directly, we'll forward your request to the relevant Partner and help them respond.
8. Cookies and similar technologies
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for the site to work and stay secure, for example to deliver pages quickly, block spam form submissions, and protect against malicious traffic. [If you add analytics, such as Google Analytics, say so here and describe what it collects.]
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the site may not work properly without them.
The InQ service inside Partner apps does not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels.
9. How long we keep information
- End-user queue data is kept only as long as needed to provide the service, typically for the active queue session, and is then deleted or anonymized, unless the Partner configures a different retention period.
- Website inquiries and support requests are kept for as long as needed to respond and maintain our business records, generally no longer than 24 months.
- Partner account information is kept for the life of the account and afterwards as required for legal, tax and accounting purposes.
10. Security
We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. Every QR code generated by the service is encrypted and unique to one end user, and data is encrypted in transit. [Confirm: and at rest.] No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a security incident affecting personal information, we'll notify affected Partners and individuals as required by law.
11. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Know what personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it
- Ask us to correct inaccurate information
- Ask us to delete your information
- Opt out of marketing emails at any time, using the unsubscribe link or by contacting us
- Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights
To make a request, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before acting on it. You can also have an authorized agent submit a request for you. If you're an end user of a Partner app, see section 7.
12. Additional notice for California residents
In the past 12 months, we have collected the following categories of personal information: identifiers (such as name, email address, phone number and IP address), professional information (such as company name), and internet activity (such as pages viewed on our website). We collect it from you directly, automatically from your device, and from Partners on your behalf. We use it for the purposes described in section 4.
We do not sell or share personal information, as those terms are defined under California law, and we do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that require an opt-out. California residents may exercise the rights described in section 11.
13. Children's privacy
Our website and service are intended for businesses and are not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we'll delete it.
14. Where information is processed
We're based in the United States, and information we collect is stored and processed in the United States [confirm hosting location]. If you access our website from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the “Last updated” date at the top. If a change is material, we'll give Partners notice by email or through the service before it takes effect.
